BUSINESS LICENCES:  are available FREE from Village office.  The license is recognized in

Raymond, Magrath, Coaldale, Barons, Picture Butte, Coalhurst & Nobleford.  You can also have your business listed on the Village of Stirling website and in the “Welcome to Stirling” package available from the village office.

 

PETS & LICENCES: All pets must be licensed.

No peacocks, pigs or donkeys are allowed in town except for the ones in town before the bylaw was passed.

Dogs – limit of 2 dogs/household

  Spayed or neutered  $5.00/dog, not spayed or neutered $10.00/dog

  Cats – limit of 2 cats/household

  Spayed or neutered  $2.50/ cat, not spayed or neutered $5.00/cat

  Horses:  limit of 2/pastureable acre $10.00/horse

 

GARBAGE DISPOSAL: The village does NOT provide garbage pick-up.

 

TRANSFER STATION: Residents may bring their garbage to the transfer station located north of the Cemetery on 8th Street North as follows:

  • Summer hours: April – October:  Tuesday & Thursday 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. &

          Saturday 9:00 a.m. –  4:00 p.m.

  • Winter hours:  November – March: Tuesday 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. &

          Saturday 9:00 a.m. –  4:00 p.m.

  • The station does not accept construction materials.

  • Large appliances including refrigerators must be taken to Raymond Transfer Station

  • Tree branches less than 1 “ in diameter will be collected & chipped.  Wood chips are available for residents.

 

GARBAGE CONTRACTORS:  collect garbage and take it to the Transfer Station for a fee:

RECYCLING:  A recycling trailer is located outside of SHOP @ 206 4th Avenue

Open:  drop off any time     

            Recyclables are: plastic milk jugs, newsprint & tin

            NOTE:  cardboard is not recycled at the trailer.

 

DEVELOPMENT PERMITS

1.  Any development requires a Development Permit from the Village.

2.  Following the acquisition of a Development Permit a Building Permit needs to be purchased.

         - Two sets of architectural designs, structural designs, mechanical designs and electrical

           drawings

         - Permit filled out and fee paid

         - Village will courier the permit to Alberta Permit Pro for the final approval with a turn around

time of approximately one week. 

3.  Following approval from Alberta Permit Pro a Building Permit is issued.

4.  A Building Permit is required for all construction in excess of $500.

5.  Plumbing and Electric Permits are also acquired from the Village Office.

 

SUBDIVISIONS

All subdivisions are now carried out through the Village Office.  A detailed sketch of

the proposed subdivision area needs to be supplied along with the applicable fee.
